Macy Jayne, the timber is English Ash, never used it for a dulcimer before, it's very hard, but bends well and cleans up a dream with sharp tools. Of some small interest the pic shows well how my handling of the just sanded surfaces removes residue dust and gives an indication of the finished timber, which is why the use of a 'tack rag' before applying any applied finish is a good idea ?
