Randy, is it to have your usual fret 'pattern' and metal at the 'work' end ? That cello peg seems to be saying "come on then, show me what you've got". I know want you mean about patience , I have been known to put a string on a nearly finished instrument just to see.........
looking forward to hearing you "make music together"
Randy that is looking really fine. I bet it's going to be wonderful!
I'm always so amazed at people who can just sit down and build themselves dulcimers!

Hey...you've got a plan and you know what you're after. The patience is another matter lol. I'm pretty sure it'll be pretty cool when all is said and done.
I'm gonna turn the PV box back into a 3 stringer. The fretboard isn't quite wide enough for a 4 stringer....was irritating me. I still like it for palying fiddle tunes with my fingers.
I shoulda said "light & airy sound" but with a bite to it....gotta have that edge....
I just barely have enough knowledge, skill & tools to make a dulcimer....& barely enough patience...I wanna play it right away!

It looks really good! I bet that one took a few days with the false bottom and everything.
I'm envious. That is a beautiful looking dulcimer. Please do a video with it sometime to let us hear it.
Usual fret pattern but no metal John Henry.
You're all maple Keith Young got me to thinking of going this way Lisa.
Here are some dimensions Randall. I could never bend the sides...lucky I like 'em ok straight!
Gotta go play it!
