Randy, is it to have your usual fret 'pattern' and metal at the 'work' end ? That cello peg seems to be saying "come on then, show me what you've got". I know want you mean about patience , I have been known to put a string on a nearly finished instrument just to see.........

I'm always so amazed at people who can just sit down and build themselves dulcimers!Hey...you've got a plan and you know what you're after. The patience is another matter lol. I'm pretty sure it'll be pretty cool when all is said and done.
I'm gonna turn the PV box back into a 3 stringer. The fretboard isn't quite wide enough for a 4 stringer....was irritating me. I still like it for palying fiddle tunes with my fingers.
I shoulda said "light & airy sound" but with a bite to it....gotta have that edge....
I just barely have enough knowledge, skill & tools to make a dulcimer....& barely enough patience...I wanna play it right away!
