It's akin to it huh John Henry? I've been playing this old style noter drone way for almost exactly 2 years...but did have a brief fling with it in 2008....it was too hard then....: )....Usually I don't listen to advice...I pretty much already know it all.. : )....but Lisa helped me when I was learning how to play the style and she advised tuning this way and using a flexible pick....so I listened and I did and I'm glad I did.....
Yeah Rob I remembered when you went home to OK 2 years to go to the Old Pal show, and I was thinking/hoping you'd like this tune.
Tuned CGC James...but with octave high C bass string....with my strumming style a low tuned bass just scares off all the other notes....sounds like doody....oh well. OR originally was a C tune but most play it in D nowadays....which is alright tho. I first heard it on the Young Fogies record....came out quite a while ago....they're all old now anyways.... : )....like me....I've played it off and on through the years but never realized it was a good MD tune....
Lordy! You can't go wrong with a Randy Adams video. That's a great tune played with great style. I'd never heard of it 'til Dan mentioned it in chat about 2 months ago. He thought I should learn it, being an Okie & such. Now that I've heard it, maybe I will.
Great tune and wonderful playing.
That's a good 'un!
Truly awesome playing Randy! Yer strumming hand is great! The pick is perfect for it.
Another good one Randy. Interesting title.
Who's Lisa ??

One to try and learn, thanks for posting Randy ! ( for me, that high 'C' gives just a suggestion of "Galex"? )
best wishes
John
