John I don't now how I missed this when you posted it but it was well done. This post should bring it back up front for other to fine that could also have missed it. Next time I see you at a Nonsuch gathering I will as you to teach it to me but in the meantime I shall have a go at copying you.
OK, this has my vote for favorite dulcimer performance in recent memory. Great tune, beautifully played! I am glad Geekling's comment brought it back to the first page so that I had a chance to see/hear it. Thanks Geekling, and thanks John Henry!

Thanks Dusty, books have always been a means of escape for me, as has music these latter few years. It saddens me when people talk of books disappearing 'in our lifetime'. Incidentally, the guy who lost his books is said to have lost all his spare clothes in a house fire soon after all his 'leather covered books' sank beneath the waves. Unlucky or what?best wishesJohn

I am not sure what would sadden me more, to lose my books or to lose my musical instruments. Both are essential aspects of my sense of self.Very pretty playing. You certainly catch the meloncholy mood of the story.

John Henry I love the haunting melody of this song. You can hear the sadness of loss in it. Very pretty and very nice playing.
The tune and the playing captivated me, mesmerizing!
I agree with Brian and Stephanie...just gorgeous!
