I didn't play the tunes for about 4 or 5 months. I watch the NBA playoffs every year and generally don't play much during that 6 weeks or so. Then I quit smoking about 4 months ago and changed all my habits around for a while.
I've been playing for 3 weeks or so and getting it back and enjoying it.
I've been playing this simple little melody a little bit here lately.
Played on a fretless dulcimer with a noter

Randy, very nice. And I too speak from experience as an ex smoker, it does change your habits around a while. Glad you are back to making music.
Great tune Randy, thanks for sharing it. And congratulations on quitting smoking!
I've had my fingers crossed for a Cleveland-Chicago match-up, Randy.
Since I'm a longtime Reds' fan and this season went south months ago. . . In my lifetime, I'd love to see an all-ohio Series, an I-71 WS.
Robin....and now the Indians in the WS!
Thanks so much for listening and commenting my friends.
I never thought I'd quit smoking...I loved everything about it....well....except for the part about it'll eventually kill you.
I tried to quit in 1988 and I was f'n miserable. This time has been relatively easy...but I have my guard up....that habit/nicotine/whatever is a powerful and cunning foe.......f'sure
Good on both of you Randy and Rob, in quitting smoking!
It's not easy, but over time you feel so much better and not dragged down...I speak from my own experience too.
Well, Randy, that was a simple little melody, but a very effective one. It has all the elements of a "good" tune. I quit smoking in Dec., when I was in the hospital. Haven't given in to the urge to start up again, but it's there.
I'm glad you're back, Randy! It's a long NBA season-- go, Cavs-- so there's lots of time for you to play now.
Your fretless play always grabs my attention. You know I'm a fan!
I'm glad you've stopped smoking and hope you're feeling benefit from having done so.
Randy, that's great playing and great news! I hope you feel much better, although I'm sure that changing all your habits around for a while presented many challenges. I find that playing while TV is on (especially basketball games) helps release tension...maybe you'll be able to try that. Anyway, things are sounding quite positive for you and we're all enjoying your music, so keep on playing!
Randy, great stuff. No one plays like you do.
Sounds great Randy! It's fascinating to me how little actual sliding you do on this with your noter. Your dulcimer sounds like bells ringing.
Doesn't look simple to this gal! ~love it~
Great tune Randy! Love seeing you play your fretless dulci, glad your back to it.
I wish you well with all your changes.
Liked the tune, great playing.
Nice! Quit 'cold turkey' in October of 97. Still want one.
Nice tune, Randy...I like the slides you get on that fretless dulcimer. Best of luck with the not smoking!
Steven
Best wishes with the no smoking Randy, your ND playing is real class, beautiful tune and playing.
Whatever your annual cycle, Randy, I'm glad you're playing again. This is a very enjoyable, melodic tune.
And good luck with the not smoking. I won't miss you playing with a cigarette hanging' out of your mouth.
Outstanding in every respect..........a true joy to sit back listen.........brilliant!
Hey Randy, I really enjoyed your song and playing.
First time seeing a fretless dulcimer. I don't know, but it seems to me this type would be the perfect noter/drone dulcimer. No frets.
