It's gonna take a while to get it worked out. Not the notes, but it's taking awhile to get used to the equidistant strings. I keep strumming stuff that ain't there. LOL
Hey Randy, Just got the dulcimer back from the shop with the new tuners, which are great. I started working on this tune and I gotta say I am loving the fretless sound. I have got the first two sections sorta down(not up to speed yet) and will start the third, tomorrow. I am having a ball. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thx Karen, Carrie & Dusty. Maybe I haven't listened to enough cajun music. I don't really get the Louisiana correlation....just sounds like an old time fiddle tune to me. Hey John had oughta play it...he's got the instrument & the ability!... & I'd buy him a beer at the local watering hole if he can play it in NC in a few months!... : )....
Good point Dave....I oughta be calling it Fiddle Tune #21 huh....gives it a modicum of aristocracy.. : )...
Thx so very much my friends...
Yeah I've got a little time on my hands...I'm ready to go back to work anytime! In the meantime I thought I'd see what this one looked like on the paper.
Did I say strumming....DUH I mean picking! Long day. LOL

Your welcome Karen. I'm so excited you think enough of the tune to mess with it....f'real! Can't wait to hear you play it!

I'm pretty sure not being good at naming tunes makes you some kind of a bad guy.lol Cool blues-y opening, Randy. Oh, you know I like it! :)
Cajun music is filled with fiddle tunes, and you dun good.. I'll make sure he practices....
!
Wow...no pressure or nothin' lol.
I think it's just the bluesy sound that has me thinking catfish and mosquitos. But the song does evoke some old time Cajun fiddle, too.

Are you sure you aren't from Louisiana? Great Job I loved it!
I, too, hear the bayou and some crawdads or catfish or something. Really nice playing. You are indeed one of a kind, Randy.
How about "21 Crawfish" for a title?
John Henry....lord of alliteration... : )...
