Rob Lackey was born and raised in the Cookson Hills of eastern Oklahoma. After playing the guitar since a small child he discovered the dulcimer in the mid 1980’s, though he had seen them in the Arkansas Ozarks in the 1970’s. A new love was born when he purchased his first dulcimer and began to attempt to transfer the finger style, in which he predominantly played, from the guitar to that instrument. After coming to West Virginia he began to play the instrument in earnest again and is a favorite on the traditional music scene there doing workshops and performing at Gardner Winter Music Fest, Pattyfest, and the Hindman (Ky) Dulcimer Homecoming, the SE Ohio Dulcimer Festival, and the Dutchland Dulcimer Gathering (PA.) He is also co-founder of the Wartz'n'All Dulcimer Gathering now held semiannually in Morgantown, WV

Thank you, Rob! Hope it isn't as hot where you are now as it has been here in Oklahoma!
Thank you for the kind welcome.
thanks you Rob, happy to be here!
Thanks for welcome Rob
Thanks for the welcome. No, I did not know about Roger. I had never even heard of a Dulcimer until about 2 weeks or so ago. I am a huge Steeleye Span fan, ever since I first discovered them around 1980 when I was soldiering abroad. I saw he played with their guitarist when I googled him.
I always fingerpicked or thumbstrummed my guitars, so the pick has been interesting so far. I decided to try it out. It certainly makes more noise than my bare fingers.
Roger’s playing does sound lovely, I found an album called Nonesuch on youtube.
Sorry for the late reply, I am not skilled with forums and messaging and the suchlike these days.
I know I will enjoy it - It is a Group of friendly people-Thanks for the welcome back!
Thank you

Thanks so much! When I get ready to buy one I will keep you in mind. Thanks again.
Thanks, I'm sure I'll enjoy enjoy it here. Came to dulcimers late in life but surely enjoy playing. I have tried some chord/melody, mostly on hymns and Holy Manna, still learning. Thanks for the welcome.
Hi Rob, many thanks for the warm welcome
Rob, I've fooled around at writing a for "Try to Remember" since I'm reluctant to make mistakes and not sure of doing anything the same way twice. Time is always tight; do you have a link to tab? Thx
