Robin, many years ago now, on the old Everything Dulcimer site we did a CD where everyone who wanted to participate contributed 3 tunes. Everyone who participated received a copy, but I don't think we ever posted it anywhere.

Thanks. That was a whirlwind demonstration for 4 year olds at my old Pre-K center. What I thought was going to be an hour long songs, stories, and demo for 100 kids turned out to be 15 minute zips for 20 kids 5  times. Talk about flying by the seat of your pants. And it was muggy so my guitar didn't even go outside with me!

Robin, let Mark know I was a pre-school teacher for my working time, I had to stop working at age 45, but have always had children of families I have helped involved in my life like little girly, the difference is she will be there till I am older and grayer cause her Mom respects and values what her daughter and I do for each other. Also I have been able to be there to be helpful to the family.

Not being able to have my own children this has been where God has wanted me to serve.

It pulls on the heartstrings sometimes, but it has been very positive and loving for the most part.

I am healing Robin, my knee is doing very well and walking well, now with my cane outside my house. I am just happy to be home.

I got to play my dulci's for my Mom and tried to help her get acquinted with playing, she is sight impaired. I also had friends visit whom was interested in learning about my dulcimers.

I had to learn to hold it on my lap with one straight leg, I got it to balance on the top of my brace.

Healing with my Mom really helped her attitude, but I think she will slide back to depression, makes me a little sad.

We are having nice warm windy weather, my tulips are coming up. No more falling for me.

Take care my sweet friend...Lex inlove

My girly is much happier I am home too.

Thank you Robin, isn't it just something that we can share so much in our lives through our machines and music.

Speaking of music, you and Mark have added so much peace to my life through your music. I really enjoy listening to you both play.

You sure got that right, that lil' girly and Smiley Friend are a God send.

I found out that my Mom will be going home Thursday, so I will be leaving tomorrow for a spell. Gotta take care of that Mom of mine. Praying that she can be safe in her home and have no more falls. I am looking forward to spending time with her, watching her determination to heal and get stronger.

We have more snow coming, going to beat it.

Take Care of you, My Friend.....Sending you Hugs! HUG

Lexie R Oakley
01/02/16 02:03:05PM @lexie-r-oakley:

Robin, my Mom hasn't been too interested in my life, it seems she uses me as her door mat. I moved to have my family close, but the fact is they have never been close...my faith is what I have.

However, my bible tells me that we need to honor our parents, so I let myself let go of all the stuff and God gives me the strength to give to my Mom what she needs.

Bless you my friend.....Lex

Lexie R Oakley
01/01/16 09:16:45PM @lexie-r-oakley:

Hi Robin, thank you so much for your sweet thoughts.

3 yrs ago went through taking care of my Dad and saying good bye to him and my Mom in 2 yrs had 7 surgeries.....that was really tough.

My Mom is in a Rehab facility and working hard. I take Smiley Dog up to see her and the other folks and this makes everyone feel better.

I am mostly staying at Mom's cause it is a shorter drive to see her and the road isn't snow packed and icy....and it is easier on my brother to have me closer to him also.

I will only be here to check in with you all occasionally for the next month, just know I think about you and our other friends often.

Also, I am taking my dulcimers to share with my Mom. I am hoping she will show some interest and experience the sweet sound with me, the last time she just didn't. I really want to share it with her, she is really musical and talented.

I needed to get home to see my "Lil' Girly" with her Filly she got for Christmas. Yes, Alysha got a baby horse 7 months old and they are doing really well together. As I understand, she is leading her horse (Quarter) and playing tag with her....So cute and fun!!!!clapper

And that little girl and I don't do well when we are far away from each other!

Happy New Year to you and Mark! HUG

Robin, I never imagined, but isn't it a blessing to be able to take care of our Parents!

It really has changed me for the better and I am so thankful I am able to be there for my Mom right now. Time to spoil her as she has me and give her ALOT!

Blessings to you Robin..

Lexie
